Farewell to Board Member Cole Lowman and Communications Committee Member James Rizzi, who have just moved with their two young sons, Ernie and Emmett, to the Boston area to take up new teaching jobs at Curry College in Milton, Massachusetts. Cole is a professor of African-American literature  and rhetoric and composition who took their Ph.D. at UB, while James is a professor of Shakespeare and early modern studies who took his Ph.D. at Tufts.

Cole is famous at the Tool Library for cool student Zines and chairing the Development Committee that framed out our inaugural BB&BBQ.  They began its regular BINGO nights at Jack Rabbit and its series of donor events..

James served on the Tool Library’s Communications Committee and wrote this regular Newsletter volunteer feature. He anchors their home and in Buffalo also worked for Every Bottom Covered Inc, WNY’s first and only diaper bank.

Both are also union organizers, and big believers in mutual aid and collective action.  They recognize that “the strength of community provides both a safety net and a path to a better future,” and that The Tool Library brings us together to build it. Good fortune, and stay in close touch, Cole, James, Ernie, and Emmett!
