Join The Tool Library and community partners for our Spring and Fall Service Days taking place across Buffalo!
“Volunteering is the ultimate exercise in democracy. You vote in elections once a year, but when you volunteer, you vote every day about the kind of community you want to live in.”
We believe that a strong community is a civically engaged community. We put our tools to work improving the places we share through large-scale community projects such as neighborhood clean-ups, tree-plantings, community gardens, and public art installations. Each year we help organize and facilitate more than a dozen community service events in partnership with block clubs, community groups, and neighborhood organizations.
These events bring together community members, teach new hands-on skills, and help steward public spaces like parks, gardens, and trails. More than just picking up trash or planting a tree, Service Days at The Tool Library are about reconnecting neighbors, harnessing the power of collective action to address quality of life issues, and building a culture of stewardship over the spaces we share.
Most events take place on Saturday mornings and last no longer than three hours. Please plan to bring your cellphone, as volunteers will need to sign a digital waiver before participating in each event.
