Meet Albert, a dedicated volunteer with a passion for hands-on projects and a keen eye for unique tools. Albert discovered the Tool Library while searching for affordable options and has since become an invaluable part of our team, sharing his enthusiasm and expertise with our community.
- How did you discover the Tool Library?
I found the Tool Library while looking for tools one day, so I stopped by and found it to be a gateway to so many projects. How are these not everywhere?! The Tool Library is especially useful for people who need a specialized tool or something they don’t normally have access to, like the wood planer for me.
- What motivated you to become a volunteer?
I decided to become a member/volunteer to support the organization and contribute to its growth. I like how the Tool Library makes tools accessible, and it’s great to be part of a community effort that helps others.
- What responsibilities do you take on as a volunteer?
My role as a volunteer is flexible; I help out whenever I can and donate my time to support a cause I truly believe in. Whether it’s assisting with inventory, helping members find the tools they need, or contributing to special events, I’m always happy to lend a hand.
- What does the Tool Library offer that surprised you the most?
The jackhammer was a real surprise! While it makes sense for a tool library to offer something like this due to its use in renovations, it’s incredible to see such a heavy-duty tool available for loan. The convenience of accessing it without the hassle of renting from a big store is something I truly appreciate.
- Do you have any passions/interests related to the Tool Library’s mission?
I’m passionate about making and fixing things. The Tool Library aligns with my interests as it provides the resources to create and repair without the need for purchasing new items. I love the ability to build or fix something with tools that would otherwise be out of reach.
- How has the Tool Library affected your views on sustainability?
I’ve become more aware of the value of fixing items instead of discarding them. It’s made me more mindful about repairing things and reusing resources, which is a big goal of the Tool Library.
